Festival 2019

We have an exciting weekend planned, with great bands performing in the evening concerts, workshop sessions, and on open mic on Saturday afternoon.

There is plenty of camping space for tents, caravans and campers. And you don't have to worry about cooking -  food will served at mealtimes throughout the weekend and cold snacks will be available throughout the days.  Not to forget the well-stocked real ale bar.

Some of What's in Store

The Reckless Abandoners

The Reckless Abandoners made their debut in spring 2016 and have performed to appreciative audiences at Orwell, Didmarton, Gower, Moniaive, Coastline, Tamworth, Crossover, South Essex and Cornish Bluegrass festivals since then. Bandleader and lead singer Maria Wallace has a big soulful voice, and versatile musician Phil Stott (mandolin, guitar, vocals) also takes lead vocal duties on several numbers. They will be joined at Steeple Morden by talented bluegrass veterans Richard Partridge (New Essex Bluegrass Band) on fiddle, Alistair Mcilroy (Catfish Skillet) on banjo and Dick Embery (Molly & the Blackbriar Band) on double bass. The Reckless Abandoners like to mix things up with a repertoire that includes traditional standards, creative covers and original songs, and their music is a refreshing mix of upbeat and mellow bluegrass and old time, with touches of honky tonk, Western Swing and blues.
